About This Project

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) has closed the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 231 in Lacey’s Spring indefinitely. Road conditions deteriorated amid days of heavy rainfall. This closure is impacting Marshall, Morgan, and Madison counties that depend heavily on the major thoroughfare. The emergency closure of Highway 231 in Lacey’s Spring is heavily impacting drivers. ALDOT awarded Reed an emergency contract. Currently, it is estimated that 150,000 – 200,000 cubic yards of dirt are to be moved in order to install two 1,000 feet bridges to fix this stretch of road.
