About This Project

This project included the installation of a new 130-lot subdivision in Madison County. Reed’s work on this job included a 118,000 CY dirt move, 9,000 feet of sewer installation, 5,800 feet of storm drainage, and 8,000 feet of water main. At one point, our pipe crews were laying nearly 1,000 feet of pipe per day! We also completed all base and paving — including 7,000 tons of base and 4,400 tons of asphalt — as well as all electrical work.

Adding a layer of complexity to this project was the fact that the new subdivision was surrounded on three sides by existing subdivisions. This meant that we had to keep the noise down, as well as suppress the dust levels. In addition, we needed to closely coordinate several different aspects of this project that occurred simultaneously.

Despite these challenges, Reed Contracting managed to complete the Rivers Landing project on time and on budget. Our work would have been much more difficult without the contributions of our site foreman Sherman Hill, as well as our underground superintendent Chris Hayes. Sherman and Chris did an awesome job keeping everything organized and on schedule.
